Go VOTE: Stay focused and be thankful!

Greetings and Good Morning!☀️😃

Happy Monday!😃 I hope that you've had a wonderful weekend. The weather is finally changing, the fall foliage is creating a beautiful display of the season, and the coolness of autumn fills the atmosphere. The next two weeks is going to be packed with excitement! First, Halloween🎃👻 is this week, and I hope that you get more treats than tricks.😉 Have fun with the festivities! In addition to Halloween, we are also preparing for an important mid-term election. The polls are open now for early voting in many states, please take advantage! Also, if you haven't voted early, I encourage you to please cast your VOTE ✅ on Election Day, Tuesday, November 6, 2018. ✅ This is an important election, and your voice is needed and it counts! This past weekend was awesome for me. I celebrated my birthday in Washington, D.C.; I've made a few major moves for my business; and I'm excited for what the future holds. I'm hoping that you've made some power moves too! Now, it's time to get back to producing great novels filled with romance. But, before, I go "back to my regularly scheduled program", I wanted to talk about maintaining your focus and being thankful in the process. So without further delay, let's dive in!🏊🏾‍♀️

This morning, I was thinking about the state of the world today. As we head to the polls, I think about the fact that our mental focus is under attack. We are dealing with a political and social climate that is like a "rubber band", stretched to it's limits. Trust me, it's only a matter of time before it snaps! The insults and rhetoric in politics; the blatant lies; and the suppression of voting rights in many states are being used to throw us off our game and focus. Also, the distraction in social media with ridiculous and frivolous posts, by people looking for constant attention and instant fame, is also robbing us of our focus. This content lowers our intelligence and it's not uplifting to our society. We have to "keep our eyes on the prize". This distraction is what's shaping the communities that we now live in, and the people of those communities, as a result, have become less tolerant of our differences, and more forward and forceful with their hatred towards others. This was evident on Saturday, as we watched the news in horror as a shooter, killed eleven people while which included law enforcement worshipping in a synagogue in Pittsburgh, PA. We have to make a change. However, with all of this said. There is a glimmer of hope. We can be thankful, that we have "warriors" in the world fighting against these negative forces each day. We can be thankful, for the privilege to be able to cast our vote. We can be thankful, that we have life within us that can make a difference in someone else's life. We can be thankful, that if we believe, things can change. We can turn this ship around. We can be thankful, for a greater power to intervene, if we just do our part to be the light and share goodness in the world. We can be thankful, that in this time, through the turmoil and darkness, we can see all of these things for what it is. I am thankful, that I'm doing my part, no matter how big or small, to put out positive content. I'm thankful, that I'm not part of the problem and I am part of the solution. We can all learn so much and be better, if we can be thankful for each other's differences, support each other when in need, and listen to each other when we don't agree.

As I leave you this morning, be thankful that you can make difference. "Be the change that you want to see in the world." Be blessed today, go out and change the world and be thankful for your place in making it better!

Peace and Happy #MondayMotivation!
