Are You too Prideful to be Humble?

Greetings and Good Morning!☀️😃🌞

I hope that you all have had a wonderful weekend, and that you’re off to a fabulous start! Well, to get your week going, I wanted to discuss the idea of “being humble”. Are you humble? Or are you discovering that, you’re “too prideful to be humble?” Well, let’s talk about it! Without further delay, let’s dive right in to this week’s message!

After last week's post on "generosity", I thought about being humble. Almost daily, I've noticed so many people that walk around with "misdirected confidence" that's really at its core, "pridefulness" and "arrogance". With that said, some people "nowadays" have a hard time saying, "hello" or "Good Morning!", "How are you?" So it makes sense there is a lack of modesty and the ability for some people to be humble. Much like a person that is generous, a person that is humble doesn't need the "center stage". It's okay to be confident and to have pride

, but understand that there is a thin line between being confidently arrogant and humble. People are constantly "chopping at the bit" to get ahead, and no one wants to be seen as "weak". But, being humble is not not a sign of weakness. It shows that you have the ability to not boast about yourself, and can allow someone else to share the spotlight.

There are a few ways to let your humbleness shine through. Check them out:

1. Remember, you didn't do it by yourself. There is no need to take all of the credit. Make sure that you acknowledge the individuals that have helped and supported you along the way.

2. It's true that we all have our God-given gifts and talents, but none of us is "the best" at everything. I promise you, if you look hard enough, you will find someone that can do what you do better than you. However, recognize that you have limitations and work to improve them.

3. Always be thankful and grateful for everything you have. It all can be taken away at the drop of hat. When you're down and out, it will behoove you to remember what you have. And, when you are "up", make sure that you take the time to give thanks.

In closing, remember to stay humble. Don't brag about yourself, and what you have. It's not "becoming" of you. Keep your pride in check. It's okay to be proud of yourself, and what your abilities are, but remember there is a thin line between being prideful and being humble. Life always has a way of bringing us "back down to earth".

Peace and Happy #MondayMotivation!
