Greetings and Good Morning!
I hope all is well and you're off to an amazing start! I just want to start by saying that, I just got my whole entire life this weekend re-living my college years watching 'Girlfriends' on Netflix. Recently, Netflix has been adding all of my favorite old school television shows from the 1990's and early 2000's. When Netflix recently added 'Moesha', 'Sister Sister', and 'The Game', I recall telling my best friend, "I hope they add 'Girlfriends' too!" My prayers have been answered, y'all! This is just the binge television show that I wanted and needed.
On Friday, September 11, 2020, 'Girlfriends', celebrated their 20 anniversary! This show was one of the best shows from my young adult life! I cannot begin to tell you how much I enjoyed watching this show in the early 2000's, and to watch it all over again now.
Sometimes we need a little escapism. In the midst of #COVID19 and #quarantinelife, working full-time from home, a new school year for my son, my authorpreneurship journey, the 19 year anniversary of the September 11, 2001, and emergence of Donald Trump's bombshell admission to Bob Woodward in January 2020, that he was aware how deadly the virus could be -- with all that said, I definitely needed this, right now! I awoke on Saturday morning and watched the Zoom reunion with the cast, and reported by ET, check out the article. These women inspire me to maintain my relationships, friendships, and health! Even after all these years, they're still beautiful and it's as if time hasn't passed between them. On the show, these women pulled together and looked out for each other, and they were hilarious while doing it. They tackled colorism, unplanned pregnancy, infidelity, and so much more. I loved how they dealt with life issues. When I think of all these wonderful shows, I think about how great our television shows have to be. I remember being so devastated and upset when this show did not return following the writer's strike. So, if you're like me and love a great television show, you should be doing yourself a favor! Now, is perfect to be able to see this show all over again!
