Challenging "M.A.I." Self: The Road to Completing Four 5k's in 2019

Greetings and Good Morning!☀️

I hope all is well, and Happy Monday to you!

This week is off to a great start, and I wanted to discuss my decision to complete not one, not two, but four 5K events in 2019. I was asked by my husband's cousins to participate. This is going to be a challenge for me, but I'm ready. Through this endeavor, I hope to give you a little motivation for achieving your goals. I also hope that "M.A.I." journey serves as a reminder to you that challenging yourself, is an opportunity for you to become a better individual too. So let's dive into this week's message!

PURPLE RAIN RUN - April 2018

In the past, I may have been super nervous about signing up for something like this. However, not this time. I think that I'm starting to have a different outlook on things that challenge me to become a better me. I completed my first 5K in April 2018, and it was so much fun! It was the perfect opportunity for me, and put myself out there to accomplish something that I'd always wanted to do. For my first 5K, participated in the Purple Rain Run. Of course, I was delighted to do this event because, PRINCE, is my favorite musician of all time! Plus, I had a blast!

PRINCE vs. MICHAEL 5K

Saturday, April 27, 2019

Hains Point • 1100 Ohio Drive Washington, DC 20001

In 2019, the race will be called,"PRINCE vs, MICHAEL" Run, of course, I will be signing up again, and I will keep you posted on my progress for training." This will be the first race that I will participate in during 2019. By the way, when I sign up for this race, I will need your support. As a participant, I'll be responsible for raising $20 for charity. This year the DC Running Club, "will be supporting the 501c-3 non profit Renewed Hope Life Center." So, I ask you graciously in advance, to find it in your heart to give to this wonderful organization. I definitely will be signing up, and I will keep you all posted!

Road To Becoming My Best Version of Myself

This time around, it's going to be serious. Although, I just jumped in and completed the Purple Rain Run 5K the last time. This, time I hope to be much more prepared. Before I agreed to do this, I'd actually been working out regularly with one of my best friends. The challenge is that we live in different states, she's in Florida and I'm in Maryland, but we make it work. She's my accountability partner. I've never been more dedicated to a workout regimen like this, and at the time of writing this blog post, we've completed nearly nine and a half weeks of our "LGI", "Let's Get It" fitness program. It is through this consistent focus on my health and wellness, that I believe that I will successfully complete three remaining 5K's listed below in 2019. I'm so excited about these events, and therefore I want to share the information on these awesome runs!

Today, I want to encourage you to set a goal for 2019, or something short-term and within the next month, and go after it. Make your goals apart of your daily grind, and "go hard in the paint" to reach them. The key to achieving your goals is setting small incremental goals that you will achieve. They are called, "SMART" goals, Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound. Setting your goals in this way, will ultimately keep you motivated and inspired to keep going. I believe that you can do it! "Let's get it, Let's go!"

Peace and Happy #MondayMotivation!
